MLT City Councilmember Kyoko Matsumoto Wright will run for State House

Mountlake Terrace City Councilmember Kyoko Matsumoto Wright has announced on Facebook that she will run for the State House of Representatives this November.

She is running for the seat in the 1st Legislative District currently occupied by Luis Moscoso. It will be opening up this fall as Moscoso runs for State Senate.

“I am pleased to announce that I will be running for Luis Moscoso’s open House Seat in the Ist Legislative District,” Wright posted on her Facebook page. “I feel that the nine years I have been on the Mountlake Terrace City Council has prepared me well to advance to Olympia. Thank you.”


  1. Also running for the 1st Legislative District House seat are Kirkland City Councilwoman Shelby Kloba and business owner Ed Barton, who had previously announced he would run for the vacant 1st District State Senate seat but has opted to run for the House seat instead.
