The Mountlake Terrace City Council has cancelled its Thursday, May 15 work/study session and will instead meet on Saturday, May 17, for a time of discussion and goal-setting. The special Saturday meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. in the council chambers of Interim City Hall, 6100-219th Street SW, #200; the session, which is open to the public, is expected to stretch into the early afternoon.
An agenda for the work/study session is being prepared by the City Manager’s office, and while it will cover a few topics, it is expected to include time for the council to discuss options for a new city hall building. City voters have rejected three municipal bond measures since November, 2010, that would have raised funds for the construction of a new civic campus in Mountlake Terrace.
The council’s regularly scheduled council meeting for Monday, May 19, will take place as planned.
