The Berger Partnership plans to present a preferred Master Plan for Ballinger Park during a community meeting scheduled for July 14.
Feedback will be reviewed and one preferred plan will be presented at the Ballinger Clubhouse, 23000 Lakeview Drive, Mountlake Terrace. The open house begins at 6:30 p.m. and the meeting, which is part of the Recreation and Parks Advisory Commission’s agenda, begins at 7 p.m.
At the last community meeting, Berger presented three alternative plans titled “Double Helix”, “Floodplain”, and “Meander”.
The 42-acre property was previously used as a municipal golf course and was converted to a passive park when golf course operators stepped away in 2012.
The purpose of the Ballinger Park Master Plan is to create a clear and concise set of goals, policies and objectives that will provide direction to the city for future development, redevelopment and enhancement opportunities of the park.
Next steps include continued public outreach, development of the preferred plan, identification of capital needs, and funding strategies.
