Community members responded to the violence in Dallas that killed five police officers Thursday night with support and thanks for local police officers.

On Friday morning, a family of three visited the Police Department to thank officers in person. Gifts of cookies and fruit were also delivered to the department.

Assistant Police Chief Pete Caw said several emails were also sent to department officials, thanking them for their work.
