The Northwest District 1B Boys Basketball Tournament came down to the final possession as Cedar Park Christian – MLT had a chance to first win it, then tie, but failed to convert either. The Lions fell to the Lummi Nation Blackhawks, 61-59, and had to settle for second place in the tourney.

Trailing by two, Cedar Park’s Terry Eun missed on a three-point attempt with seconds remaining in the game. Zach Wallace’s put back on the rebound didn’t fall for the Lions as time expired.

Both the Blackhawks and the Lions move on to the 1B 1/2/3 Tri-District Tournament as the number one and number three seeds respectively.

Eun led the Lions in scoring with 19 points. Wilson Reidt added 11 points while Micah Patterson contributed 10 points. The Blackhawks also had three scorers in double figures, Joe Brady and Jordan Dierdorff with 11 points each and Willie Jones with 10 points.

Cedar Park (21-3) will host the first game in the Tri-District tourney on Tuesday, Feb. 12, against the winner of the Shorewood Christian – Grace Academy match-up. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
