Work to repave Lakeview Drive from 65th Place West to the main entrance to Ballinger Park may stretch into November, Mountlake Terrace city officials reported late last week.

“Due to current weather forecasts, it could be up to three weeks before there is a sufficient weather window for the final pavement overlay,” said Mountlake Terrace City Manager Scott Hugill in his weekly report on Oct. 14.

Crews have been working this fall on the pavement grinding and overlay of Lakeview Drive, the final stages of roadway upgrades and construction of the adjacent Lakeview Trail that began in April 2015.

The roadway’s paving overlay project has seen numerous delays this year as work on curbing and ADA-approved ramps that began in August was slow in being completed – paving of Lakeview Drive that had originally been scheduled to begin the first week of September couldn’t start until curb and ramp work was finished.

  1. Nothing was done for two weeks earlier in the month. Thank goodness those 3 gaping holes on the curve up to the Nile were filled today, Oct 18.
