Playing on the road can be taxing for some teams, but it’s where the Mountlake Terrace girls basketball team is finding more success these days. The Hawks picked up their fifth victory of the year away from their home court, and their second in a row, with a 61-49 win over the Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks Wednesday night in Marysville.
Hawk Samantha Romanowski led all scorers with 21 points, while teammates Taylor Smith added 14 and Maddy Kristjanson contributed 13. The Tomahawks’ two 6-foot juniors, Jenika Anglin and Jordan Bengen, each scored 14 points in the loss.
The win lifted the Hawks record to 3-7 in the Wesco league, 6-11 overall. Marysville-Pilchuck dropped to 2-7 in league play, 4-11 overall.
