Hundreds dash for local public schools in annual run Saturday
Hundreds of runners and walkers — many with dogs and strollers in tow — gathered at Alderwood Mall Saturday for the 5K Celebrate Schools 5k Run/Walk (formerly the Street Strut), supporting the Edmonds Public Schools Foundation.
Musicians, cheerleaders and mascots from the Edmonds School District’s high schools lined the race course, which followed the mall’s perimeter, to cheer on the participants. The run was followed by a rally, robotics demonstrations and musical performances inside the mall.
All proceeds from the event proceeds will be returned to participating teachers and students in the form of classroom grants.
