After easy two wins over the Shorecrest Scots earlier in the week, the Mountlake Terrace baseball team found itself in a close battle with the Wesco rival on Friday. With some timely hitting and a strong pitching performance by starter Jason Shevenko, the Hawks pulled out a victory, 5-2, and moved into third place in the Wesco 3A South conference.

Shevenko pitched a complete game, giving up just four hits and striking out 10 Scots.

Terrace have won six in a row and now sit at 8-7 in league play, 10-8 overall. Shorecrest dropped to 1-14 in the league, 2-16 overall. The Hawks have two games remaining in the regular season, a road match-up with Marysville Getchell on Monday, April 29, at 4 p.m., then a home game against Everett on Tuesday, April 30, starting at 6 p.m. The MTHS-Everett matchup will be broadcast live on the Hawk Live Sport Network on MLTnews.com beginning at 5:45 p.m.
