After a couple of dismal offensive outings recently, the bats of the Mountlake Terrace softball team woke up on Tuesday. The Hawks scored early and often, running away with an 11-3 victory over the Shorewood T-Birds at Mountlake Terrace High School.

Junior Hannah Baisch led the hit parade for the Hawks, going three-for-five from the plate with a grand slam and seven RBI’s. Senior Kelsey Watson also collected three hits in four plate appearances for Terrace.

Pitcher Maddy Kristjanson picked up the win for the Hawks, with sophomore Sage Huntersmith picking up some valuable mound experience in relief.

Shorewood is still looking for their first Wesco victory and now sits at 0-4 in the league, 2-9 overall. Terrace improved to 2-2 in league play, 6-5 overall. The Hawks are off until next Tuesday, April 9, when they will face the Shorecrest Scots, 5 p.m., at Shorecrest High School.
