Idaho-based WinCo Foods is currently “seriously looking at” opening a new store in Edmonds in the former Top Foods at 220th and Highway 99, according to WinCo spokesperson Mike Read.
“We are still in negotiations, so nothing is certain at this point,” said Read. “If all goes well, we hope to have an announcement by the first of the year.”
With more than 14,000 employees and 86 stores in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Utah and California, WinCo is committed to being the “supermarket low-price leader.”
According to the company website, WinCo stores offer a large selection of national brands, a quality house brand, a selection of local and regional items, a fresh bakery, a large bulk foods department, a deli, fresh meat and seafood, and fresh produce. Stores are typically open 24 hours a day.
