Two crashes happened on I-405 Tuesday night around 9:30 p.m. near the I-5 interchange. One crash was on the southbound side of the freeway, the other was on the northbound side of the freeway.
Lynnwood Fire responded to the crash on the southbound side of the freeway. State Patrol Spokeswoman Heather Axtman said a single vehicle was merging onto southbound I-405 from southbound I-5, lost control and rolled over. Lynnwood Fire spokeswoman Julie Moore said the driver was transported to Harborview Medical Center and arrested for DUI.
The second crash happened in nearly the same place and at about the same time, but on the other side of the freeway. Axtman said the causing vehicle was travelling northbound on I-405 in the middle lane. A second vehicle was travelling in the right lane. The causing vehicle lost control and ran into the vehicle in the right lane and continued forward. The vehicle struck a guard rail and rolled over.
Bothell Fire responded to this crash. The causing driver in this crash was also transported to Harborview Medical Center and arrested for DUI.
