Happening nearby: Celebrating Our People/Latino cultural event set for Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church

Celebrating-Our-People_c1-300x224The Celebrating Our People event, a free new and unifying way to celebrate and connect with all Latino cultures from Latin America that are present in Snohomish County community, will be held from 1-5 p.m., Saturday, June 6 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lynnwood.

Join in the festivity of music, dance and more. This family friendly event invites families and individuals of all abilities and capabilities. Among the activities that day will be health screenings, library card sign-ups, community resources, drawings and others advocating for our community’s health and well-being. Watch performances by the world renowned Bailadores de Bronze, local folkloric group, yoga lessons, Zumba class and much more.

Celebrating Our People is organized by Familias Unidas a program of Lutheran Community Services NW. Familias Unidas is a family support center serving the Latino community through strengthening and empowering individuals and families to stabilize, sustain and succeed.

The event is made possible by the support of Verdant Health Commission, Molina Health, Everett Community College, Edmonds Community College and partnerships with SeaMar, United Health Care, Within Reach, Latino Community Fund and CHC — Snohomish.
