Girls basketball: Third-quarter comeback gives Hawks 59-49 win over Everett

MTHSHawks logoThe Mountlake Terrace High School girls basketball team had to overcome a slow start, but did so with a big third quarter to defeat the Everett Seagulls Monday night at home, 59-49. The win raised the Hawks’ record to 7-1 in Wesco League play and 12-3 overall.

After being outscored 15-9 in the first quarter and trailing by three points at halftime, the Hawks jumped all over Everett by a 21-8 advantage in the third quarter.

Junior Samantha Romanowski led Terrace in scoring with 26 points. Three Seagulls reached double figures — Sidney Rielly with 14, and Darian Rielly and Sydney Taggart each with 11.

The Hawks return home on Thursday, Jan. 23, for a match-up with the Meadowdale Mavericks starting at 7:15 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the Sound Live Sports Network beginning with the pre-game show starting at approximately 7:05 p.m.
