Gallery: Runners hit the pavement for 5K Fun Run

A crowd of 196 runners hit the pavement at 8:30 a.m. Saturday for the annual 5K Fun Run/Walk. The event was organized by the Cedar Way Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and benefits all of the elementary schools in Mountlake Terrace. The funds raised will be used to fund programs such as field trips, school events and additional supplies for art, music and library programs.

The top male finisher was Jack Pearce, with a time of 15:17. Malia Pivec was the top female finisher with a time of 17:32.

The race began at Mountlake Terrace High School, then wound up to Terrace Creek Park and back. It was a stroller-friendly course that some moms took advantage of.

The run typically happens the week of Tour de Terrace. This year, the event happened the week before.
