Looking for something to do on the 4th? It’s been a couple years now that MLT has been without fireworks on the 4th of July. In order to stay in the black, the City has had to cut the event from the budget. But have no fear, the fireworks show at Tour de Terrace returns this year in just over a month.

I asked the MLTnews community on Facebook what they were planning on doing and some of you responded that you going to Boom City to buy/watch fireworks, having a block party with neighbors and going to Everett for a BBQ and fireworks.

There are always the big events in Seattle on the 4th but you don’t always have to travel that far to have some fun. Edmonds has a big day planned with a parade, fireworks and more. It all starts at 11am and ends with a fireworks show at 10pm. See the details below.

    Edmonds Parade and Fireworks

    Fun run: 11 a.m.
    Children’s parade: 12:30 p.m.
    Main parade: 1 p.m.
Edmonds Firefighters Waterball Competition at City Park, 3rd Ave. S. and Pine St.:  3 p.m.
    Evening Entertainment: 7:30 p.m.
    Fireworks (Civic Stadium 6th & Bell): 10 p.m.

Violations will result in confiscation of fireworks and fines. For more information about the fireworks law, please contact the Mountlake Terrace Police Department at (425) 670-8260.

    1. Ummm, how bout cancel fireworks for Tour De Terrace, and have them for the 4th instead ? Then we would still have two great events.

    2. If the city was attempting to stay in the red perhaps we would have a fireworks show. I believe you meant black. Perhaps we could have a fireworks show if the MLT police didn’t send the swat team to house parties?rnOr if the mayor didn’t get a taxpayer paid breakfast with his cronnies every week at Voula’s claiming it as breakfast with the mayor as if any work get’s done. Those are the reasons the city is in the red. God forbid the city does something for the people.

    3. Is the city paying for the fireworks in Tour de Terrace? If they are, why are they doing in then and not on the 4th?

      • The reason the City has given for doing it at Tour de Terrace instead of the 4th is that it would be much more expensive to put on another entire event then to do it at Tour de Terrace. Having to use city staff to set up/clean up and pay police overtime to staff the event would be much more expensive then doing the fireworks at Tour de Terrace, which is run by volunteers.

    8. I don’t give a $hit about the Tour De Terrace…. I just wanted to light a damn sparkler in my FRONT YARD and a cop pulled up in seconds threatening me with a ticket. B
