Snohomish County FiFire-District-1-logore District 1 responded to 522 calls Sept. 8-14: 418 emergency medical aid calls, 38 motor vehicle collisions, 24 fires, 15 service calls, 3 gas leaks, 1 hazardous material call, 1 rescue and 22 automatic fire alarms.

Sept. 8
COLLISION: At 9:49 a.m., a two-car collision was reported on southbound I-5 south of Everett. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.
COLLISION: At 3:58 p.m., a two-car collision was reported at 132nd Street Southwest and Mukilteo Speedway north of Lynnwood. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

COLLISION: At 4:15 p.m., a three-car collision occurred in the 12220 block of Highway 99 south of Everett. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

Sept. 9
COLLISION: At 9:49 a.m., a two-car collision was reported at 35th Avenue Southeast and 116th Street Southeast east of Everett. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

COLLISION: At 3:33 p.m., a three-car collision was reported on exit 182 from I-5 northbound in the Lynnwood area. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

DUPLEX FIRE: At 4:41 p.m., a duplex fire was reported in the 8500 block of Vistarama Avenue east of Everett. Firefighters could see smoke and flames inside the building when they arrived. A woman who lived in the duplex sustained a minor injury when she attempted to extinguish the fire before firefighters arrived. She was treated by firefighters at the scene. The fire originated in the bedroom of one of the units and may have been started by a discarded cigarette or an unattended candle. The fire extended into the attic of both units in the duplex. Damage is estimated at $280,000. The Red Cross is assisting three residents displaced by the fire.

COLLISION: At 7:16 p.m., a two-car T-bone collision occurred at 44th Avenue West and 229th Place Southwest in Mountlake Terrace. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

Sept. 10
COLLISION: At 1:35 p.m., a two-car T-bone collision occurred in the 13200 block of Highway 99 south of Everett. Firefighters transported two patients to an area hospital.

COLLISION: At 2:54 p.m., a car struck a parked car and a pedestrian in the 500 block of 5th Avenue South in Edmonds. The pedestrian was pinned between the two cars. Her injuries were serious and she was transported by medics to Harborview Medical Center. The driver of the car was transported by firefighters to an area hospital.

COLLISION: At 4:15 p.m., a two-car, rear-end collision occurred at Highway 99 and 220th Street Southwest in Edmonds. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

Sept. 12

COLLISION: At 1:31 p.m., a two-car collision occurred in the 21700 block of Highway 99 northbound in Mountlake Terrace. One car struck a power pole. Firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital.

Sept. 13
TOWNHOUSE FIRE: At 1:50 p.m., a townhouse fire was reported in the 5700 block of 136th Street Southeast in the Silver Firs area east of Mill Creek. An area of siding on the four-unit building was in flames when firefighters arrived. No one was injured. Investigators believe the fire was started by a discarded cigarette that ignited a wooden fence and extended to the vinyl siding. Damage is estimated at $10,000.

Sept. 14
COLLISION: At 7:54 p.m., firefighters responded to a motorcycle crash at 148th Street Southwest and 60th Avenue West north of Edmonds. The motorcyclist died at the scene.
