Fire District 1 fire calls, June 30-July 6

Fire-District-1-logoSnohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 440 calls the week of June 30-July 6: 326 emergency medical aid calls, 21 motor vehicle collisions, 45 fires, 21 service calls, 4 natural gas leaks, 2 rescues and 21 automatic fire alarms.

June 30
MOTOR HOME FIRE: At 3:25 a.m., firefighters extinguished a motor home fire that extended to trees in the 3300 block of 164th Street Southwest north of Lynnwood. No one was injured.

GARAGE FIRE: At 6:59 p.m., firefighters extinguished a garage fire at an abandoned house at Lincoln Way and Admiralty Way north of Lynnwood. Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set. Damage is estimated at $10,000. No one was injured.

July 2
COLLISION: At 4:24 p.m., firefighters responded to a two-car collision in the 8400 block of 244th Street Southwest in Edmonds and transported one patient to an area hospital.
WATER RESCUE: At 6:33 p.m., firefighters responded to assist two men who fell out of a canoe as they were checking crab pots off the Edmonds Pier. Neither man was wearing a life vest. A Washington State Ferry crew in a rescue boat brought the men ashore where they were evaluated by firefighters. The men were uninjured.
COLLISION: At 9:24 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital after responding to a two-car collision in the 22000 block of 84th Avenue West in Edmonds.
GARAGE FIRE: At 10:27 p.m., firefighters extinguished a garage fire in the 10 block of 112th Street Southwest south of Everett. The fire caused $22,000 to the garage and three vehicles. Investigators determined the fire was started by fireworks that landed in a garbage can next to the garage. No one was injured.

July 3
BATHROOM FIRE: At 3:59 p.m., firefighters extinguished a small fire in a bathroom at a house in the 3200 block of 204th Street Southwest east of Lynnwood. No one was injured. Investigators believe the fire was started by an unattended candle.

July 4
FIREWORKS INJURY: At 9:38 p.m., firefighters responded to the 2800 block of 203rd Street Southwest east of Lynnwood where a man suffered a severe hand injury from a fireworks explosion. The man was transported by paramedics to Harborview Medical Center.

BRUSH FIRE: At 9:51 p.m., firefighters extinguished a brush fire in the 7400 block of Lake Ballinger Way in Edmonds. No one was injured. The fire was started by fireworks.

PORT-A-POTTY FIRE: At 11:35 p.m., firefighters responded to a port-a-potty fire caused by fireworks in the 5900 block of 146th Place Southeast, southeast of Everett. No one was injured.

July 6
COLLISION: At 8:40 a.m., firefighters transported one patient to an area hospital after responding to a one-car collision in the 500 block of Edmonds Way.
