Nearly one hundred people attended the second annual Mountlake Terrace Evergreen Awards Ceremony held Wednesday evening at the Ballinger Clubhouse. The program recognizes beautification efforts by residents and businesses who take pride in maintaining their properties.
Residents, business owners and property managers attended the awards ceremony that featured a slide show of 20 winning properties and 14 honorable mention recipients. Each of the winners received a plaque to proudly display on their home and signify to the community that they are an Evergreen Award winner. Nominees for the Evergreen Awards are judged against others in the same neighborhood. The city has six designated neighborhoods including East Mountlake Terrace, Gateway, Lake Ballinger, Melody Hill, North Mountlake Terrace, and Town Center.
The award program was partially funded by a grant from Snohomish County-Camano Association of Realtors (SCCAR) and volunteers from the Mountlake Terrace Garden Club participated at the event. Nominations for next year’s Evergreen Award program will open in the spring.
