An Edmonds School District bus was involved in an accident in the 13300 block of Highway 99 in south Everett just after 3 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
No children were on the bus, according to Edmonds School District spokesperson DJ Jakala. The bus driver and four other people were transported to area hospitals.
As of 5 p.m., authorities were still investigating the accident and one lane in each direction was open.
The Washington State Patrol reports that one male has critical injuries and one has serious injuries after the accident in which the bus and car struck a pole on Highway 99.
The two occupants of the passenger car were being taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and two other passengers from the car were taken to Swedish Edmonds, according to the Washington State Patrol. The bus driver also was taken to Swedish Edmonds.
