Edmonds Public Schools Foundation receives grants for college access, math enrichment

The Edmonds Public Schools Foundation, which raises money to support students and teachers in Edmonds School District classroom, announced it has received funding for the following initiatives:

– $8,400 in grant funding from the Greater Everett Community Foundation to support College in the High School tuition. The College Access for All program is aimed at helping students in financial need pay for college credits that they receive through high school coursework. Having funds to support students with financial need  bridges the opportunity gap, and ensures that all students have access to college-level courses.

– $38,000 in grant funding from the Hazel Miller Foundation to support student algebra enrichment and teacher classroom supplies.
This program will help struggling 8th grade students gain extra support in fundamental math concepts.  By offering algebra enhancement, students will become more prepared to meet the rigors of high school algebra and geometry courses. And through the Hazel Miller Back to School Basics program, district teachers can receive reimbursement for out-of-pocket costs for classroom supplies that are outside of the District’s scope of funding.  Reimbursement applications and program details are currently available on the EPSF website https://edmondspsf.org/impact/for-teachers/.
