Edmonds Daybreakers Rotary announces Jazz Connection college scholarships

The Rotary Club of Edmonds Daybreakers is again offering Edmonds Jazz Connection scholarships to graduating high school seniors who want to continue their education in college or vocational training schools.

An ideal candidate will demonstrate their passion for hard work and the desire to improve their school and community through extracurricular activities and volunteering. Recipients of an Edmonds Jazz Connection scholarship must attend and perform with their school’s group(s) at this year’s event on May 21, 2016 in Edmonds.

Jazz connection posterEach scholarship will be a minimum of $1,500 to be paid directly to the college/vocational school and applied toward tuition and other charges associated with attendance. Scholarship awards will be available during the 2016-17 academic year.

Scholarship recipients may be called upon to report their progress to the Rotary Club during the time they are a beneficiary a Daybreakers Rotary scholarship.

To apply, students should return the following items prior to Wednesday, May 4, 2016:
– Complete scholarship application, available here.
– Two letters of recommendation from teacher, employer, supervisor or school counselor speaking to the student’s qualifications, character and/or achievements.
