Behind the scenes at the local college is a workhorse in the form of the Edmonds Community College Foundation. The foundation is composed of community leaders who meet monthly to fulfill their mission to support access, success, and excellence for students, faculty and staff at the college. The foundation board took time last week for a work retreat that opened with a celebration of scholarship recipient Sarah Jean Merrihew and volunteer of the year Bonnie Lewman.

The foundation celebrated Bonnie Lewman for her decades of work cataloguing the 992 pieces of artwork and stories of Edmonds artist d’Elaine Johnson.
