Dog first aid/CPR class coming to MLT next month

12894583_10209056185420924_564360371_o (1)The Mountlake Terrace Recreation and Parks department will offer a dog first aid/CPR class on Saturday, April 9.

The half-day class teaches dog owners how to be prepared for emergencies involving their pet. It includes information on how to protect themselves and their dog from further harm, injury or suffering by teaching prompt, effective first aid actions and care.

Participants will practice their new skills on a canine mannequin.

The class runs from 9:30 a.m. until noon at the Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion Jungle Room, located at 5303 228th St. SW. The cost of the class is $48 for Mountlake Terrace residents or $53 for non-residents. The cost covers the American Red Cross’s “Dog First Aid” manual and the DVD for the course.
