Mountlake Terrace resident Dale Jeremiah has been named to the city’s volunteer Recreation and Parks Advisory Commission (RPAC) by the city council. Jeremiah lives near Ballinger Park and has led several volunteer work parties to help transition the former golf course property into a passive park.
Jeremiah is being appointed to a vacated position on the commission; his term will end on June 30, 2014.
The RPAC meets monthly to hear reports from city staff of the Recreation and Parks Department, promote use of city recreation facilities and programs, encourage and contribute to volunteer park projects, and advise the city council on issues concerning recreation, parks and open space in the city.
The RPAC is one of five volunteer commissions of the City of Mountlake Terrace. The city council is expected to name appointments to a couple vacant positions on the Arts Advisory Commission and the Library Board on Feb. 3.
