Council Honors Softball Team for Outstanding Season

Mayor Jerry Smith, Mayor Pro Tem Laura Sonmore and Councilmember Doug McCardle recently honored the Mountlake Terrace High School Varsity Softball Team at their annual awards banquet.

A proclamation was read on behalf of the City Council to memorialize the softball team’s accomplishments including an outstanding record of 14 wins, 5 losses and 1 tie, Northwest District 3A Championship, and advancement to the State Tournament quarterfinals.

The players and coaches received individual copies of the proclamation and Head Coach Briana Knight thanked the team and their parents for a successful season.

“Our community is very proud that so many Mountlake Terrace High School teams have advanced to the state tournament,” said Mayor Jerry Smith. “It’s rewarding to see the way this team fought throughout the season, especially with victories against Lynnwood, Shorewood, and Everett at the District Tournament and their win in the opening round of the State Tournament.”
