City of MLT looking for board and commission volunteers

City of MLT logoThe City of Mountlake Terrace is currently recruiting volunteers to serve on its various boards and commissions. Board members hear reports from city and agency leadership, inform and advise the City Council, help organize events and get involved in the community.

There are currently openings on the city’s Library Board and Arts Advisory Commission. In most cases, board and commission members do not need specialized training or experience; city officials advise that they need dedication to attend regularly scheduled monthly meetings and a willingness to work in a team environment. Many members have found the experience fun and rewarding by meeting other residents with similar interests, learning about the city, and helping shape the future of Mountlake Terrace.

The current round of applications to serve on city boards and commissions are due Jan.17, 2014. Visit the city’s website for more details and an application or contact Virginia Olsen, City Clerk/Community Relations Director at 425-744-6206 or volsen@ci.mlt.wa.us.
