The Mountlake Terrace City Council will consider the adoption of the 2015 Comprehensive Plan update after a second public hearing at its June 15 meeting, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Mountlake Terrace Interim City Hall, 6100 219th Street SW, Suite 220, second floor.
This review and update of the Comprehensive Plan is due in mid-2015.
The update is to cover the next 20-year planning period, 2015-2035. The purpose of the Plan is to ensure it reflects the community’s vision and that the goals and policies can achieve that vision. The update describes current conditions and trends, incorporates the population and job targets for the year 2035, updates performance measures and actions, and makes other mandatory updates as required by law, as well as discretionary updates. No changes in land use designations are being made. The 2015 Plan update will replace the existing 2003 Comprehensive Plan, last amended in 2014.
Public comments are still encouraged and welcome. Written comments must be received by 4 p.m. on the day of the City Council hearing.
Copies of the proposed updates to the Comprehensive Plan elements are posted on a special website for the 2015 major update at www.cityofmlt.com/majorupdate.
