The student athletes of Cedar Park Christian School – Mountlake Terrace have enjoyed a successful spring season as the baseball squad placed second at the 1B District 1 Tournament last weekend and the boys golf team finished the 2014 regular season undefeated.
As a result of their finish at their District 1 tourney on May 10, the CPCS-MLT baseball team qualified for the 1B Bi-District 1/2 Baseball Tournament, but fell just short in Tuesday’s first round game against Evergreen Lutheran. The Lions were defeated 3-2, ending their 2014 campaign.
The CPCS-MLT boys golf team went 12-0 for the year, led by Ben Reidy, who had a season-long average of 39 strokes per nine holes. “Cedar Park is a 1B school but we were able to achieve three of our wins versus 1A schools, and five wins versus 2B schools,” noted Coach Bill Kelley.
The Lions’ golf squads next hit the links on Thursday, May 15, for their Northwest League Championships and district qualifier, to take place at the Gallery Golf Course at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island.
