Cedar Park boys score convincing 90-76 victory in 1B tourney

The Lions of Cedar Park Christian MLT were running wild Wednesday night in their second round matchup in the Northwest District 1B Boys Basketball Tournament, sprinting to a season-high 90-76 victory over the Tulalip Heritage Hawks. The win puts the Lions in the district championship game scheduled for Friday, Feb. 8, at 7:45 p.m. at Mount Vernon Christian School.

Cedar Park (20-2) overcame the absence of their second-leading scorer, Eric Matson, with a balanced offensive attack. Five Lions scored in double figures, led by the 22 points of Daniel Schettler. Terry Eun and Austin Schley each contributed 18 points; Micah Patterson tallied 15 points while Wilson Reidt added 13.
Tulalip Heritage (15-5) was paced by the 18 points of DY Kidd, while teammate Brandon Jones added 17 points. The Hawks play for third place in the district tournament on Thursday, Feb. 7, at 8:15 p.m.
