Showtime is at 7 p.m. each night; tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.

The Neil Simon comedy is adapted from a series of short stories written by Russian Anton Chekhov in the late 1800s. MTHS students play a wide array of characters dealing with suffering, tragedy and absurdities. The play portrays the author’s assertion that if one can see the humor in a mad world, life becomes bearable.

The event started with Commander Craig McCaul and a police color guard leading visitors in a flag salute and the Pledge of Allegence. He then read a Mayor’s pronouncement declaring Tuesday Peace Officers Memorial Day in Mountlake Terrace.

Following the ceremony, visitors were invited into the station for tours and refreshments.

Mountlake Terrace High School is holding its Spring Bazaar Saturday, and the MTHS Sports Booster Club will be raising money with Ford Motor Company’s “Drive One 4 UR School” event on the same day. Harris Ford of Lynnwood will be on hand at the high school with new Ford products available for free test drives. For each test drive, Ford will donate $20 to the sports booster club up to a maximum total donation of $6,000 (those eligible to test drive must be 18 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license).

MTHS has held fundraising bazaars in November or December for years; this is the first springtime bazaar and replaces a rummage/garage sale event that has traditionally been held during this time of year.

The bazaar is scheduled to run from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. More information can be found at the Spring Bazaar Facebook page.
