After building a 15-point lead after three quarters, the Mountlake Terrace Hawks boys basketball team held off a furious comeback effort by Shorewood and defeated the T-Birds 67-63 Friday night at Mountlake Terrace High School. The win kept Terrace on top of the Wesco 3A South Conference standings with just two games remaining in the regular season.
The victory avenged a Hawk two-point loss to the T-Birds at Shorewood High School on Jan. 6.
Loren Lacasse led Terrace in scoring with 28 points, his high for the season. Yoel Tekle contributed 15 points, with Greg Bowman adding 14 points in the win. Shorewood’s Taylor Freeman led all scorers with 29 points.
Mountlake Terrace will honor the seniors on the team at its Monday, Feb. 3 home court finale when they take on Shorecrest. The Hawks will close their regular season on Wed., Feb. 5 with a road game against Glacier Peak.
