Last year’s blessing of the pets at Bethesda Lutheran Church.

Bethesda Lutheran will be conducting its annual Blessing of the Pets service on Sunday, Oct. 5, beginning at 10:15 a.m.

Church members and guests are invited to bring pets, photos of their pets, or teddy bears and stuffed animals to the Sunday morning service for a personal blessing from Bethesda Lutheran Church Pastor Malcolm Brown. The pets will be welcomed in the church sanctuary and blessed during the worship service, scheduled to last no more than an hour.

In consideration of other people’s pets, please have your pet on a leash or in an appropriate cage or carrier, church officials suggested. If bringing your pet to the church poses difficulty, arrangements can be made for the pastor to make a home visit for the blessing.

This will be the ninth year of the annual Blessing of the Pets service at Bethesda Lutheran Church, located at 23406 56th Ave. West in Mountlake Terrace.
